iStylr supports OpenID

November 15th, 2008

Some of you might have noticed this already. Since yesterday iStylr.com supports the OpenID single login authentication. OpenID eliminates the need for multiple usernames across different websites, simplifying your online experience. This means for you, in case you already own an openID (and chances are high), that you can log in to iStylr with one single ID and you don’t have to remember your username password combination anymore.

If you want to learn more about openID just click here. If you don’t know if you already own an openID you can check this list of openID providers.

In case you already registered with iStylr you can attach your openID to your iStylr-username via this link. Please note, that this settings page is currently available in German language only. On the bottom of that page you’ll find a form called ‘Neue OpenID Verknüpfung erstellen:’. Paste your openID into that form and click on attach. I’ll be releasing an English version of that page in short.

Registration problems solved

November 15th, 2008

I just noticed an error during the registration process on the main page. This error was caused by a misstyped registration url.

The good news is that this error is fixed now and registration is working again.

A perfect combination: 2 Firefox plugins that enhance the iStylr

July 15th, 2008

Today I’d like to point you to two great Firefox plugins that I highly recommend to everybody using the iStylr.

The first one is called IE View Lite. IE View Lite adds a button and a menu-item to open a certain page in Internet Explorer. The great thing about this plugin is that you can setup sites that should always open in IE. This is so great because you can set it up to show the template preview page of the iStylr to always open in Internet Explorer. This makes it really comfortable to check your template for x-browser compatibility.

Download IE View Lite:

The second plugin is called ColorZilla and is a color picker integrated into firefox. It really helps when referencing colors used in the page. Here’s what the author says:

With ColorZilla you can get a color reading from any point in your browser, quickly adjust this color and paste it into another program. You can Zoom the page you are viewing and measure distances between any two points on the page. The built-in palette browser allows choosing colors from pre-defined color sets and saving the most used colors in custom palettes. DOM spying features allow getting various information about DOM elements quickly and easily. And there’s more…

I was a little fast

July 8th, 2008

I was a little fast on my announcement about the next big update for the iStylr. Eventhough most parts are ready to be released I allways find some new little bugs that need to be fixed before I can release these improvements.

Fact is however that you will be amazed of what is to come - I am for sure.

Just keep on watching this blog and your inbox for more information.

PS: Sorry for teasing you, but I don’t want anybody to jump on this train before I put it live ;-)
